TYhis year, the reservoirs have run dryin much of Englanbd, and Norway, blessed with abundant Hydro Electric Power resources, has had to stop exporting electricity becuse so many of the reservoirs ar running low. In southern England, the "Green and Pleasant land" (William Blake) has turned parched yellow. I have not had to mow my Buckinghamshire lawn for sefveral months now. Many trees this August in woodlands and forests are looking stressed, with leaves turning shrivelled brown, whereas in the past, leaves stayed green until autumn, in mid September forty years ago, mid October nowadays. Yet still the denialist - mainly right wing - politicianswill insist the risks of runaway climate warming are greatly exaggerated and refusing to accept the need to drastically reduce carbon emmissions. This in a democracy.
